We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Project Technician. This is an entry-level position with hands-on training, mentorship, and a fast-track career path—those who learn quickly and take the initiative will have the opportunity to advance to the next level sooner.

At Dirt Market, you’ll work closely with experienced professionals to learn the ins and outs of soil export logistics, environmental compliance, and project coordination. We provide clear pathways for advancement based on performance, initiative, and a desire to grow.



Project Technician Job Duties Include:
With support and training, you will:
  • Assist in preparing proposals, purchase orders, and draft contracts for review.
  • Learn to track and review client invoices and project costs, using tools like Timberline and internal spreadsheets.
  • Be introduced to project background data analysis, including:
    • Geotechnical Reports
    • Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I/II)
    • Analytical Soil Data
    • Construction and grading plans
  • Work with experienced staff to:
    • Develop sample plans for soil export approvals
    • Coordinate lab testing and data analysis for soil classification
    • Submit approval packages to landfills and clean fill sites
  • Shadow and support with:
    • Client communication and follow-ups
    • Field documentation and contamination confirmation
    • Preparing haul routes, manifests, and acceptance forms
    • Scheduling and coordinating trucking and disposal operations
  • Learn and assist with SWPPP inspections and reporting under the guidance of a Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP)

Background and Education:
The ideal candidate would have the following skills and background
  • Interest in or basic understanding of construction plans
  • Familiarity with Excel, Word, and PDF/CAD tools (Bluebeam, AutoCAD a plus)
  • Detail-oriented, especially when working with data or maps
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Some knowledge of or curiosity about soil properties and environmental testing

Hourly Range: $30-40
